Job summary

BDO (Australia) seeks an experienced Senior Manager to lead cross‑functional infrastructure advisory engagements in Brisbane. You will guide complex financial, commercial and strategic analyses, oversee business cases and funding strategies, and manage multi‑discipline teams across transport, energy, utilities and social infrastructure projects.

You will mentor junior staff, engage senior government and private sector stakeholders, and explore AI/automation to enhance delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Engineering, Business or related discipline.
• Significant experience within infrastructure advisory, commercial advisory, management consulting, project finance, corporate finance, or comparable government or industry environment.
• Strong financial modelling capability, including reviewing complex models, challenging assumptions and interpreting scenarios and sensitivities.
• Experience leading business cases, feasibility studies, commercial assessments or investment analysis.
• Exposure to major infrastructure, capital projects or complex investment programs across government and/or the private sector.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate complex financial and technical analysis into clear, practical recommendations.
• Demonstrated experience leading client engagements and managing multiple workstreams.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with confidence engaging senior decision-makers.
• Business development experience, including proposal development, identifying opportunities and building long‑term client relationships.
• Genuine interest in AI, automation and emerging technologies, with experience exploring how they can improve analysis and professional workflows.
• Collaborative leadership style and a genuine interest in developing and mentoring others.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor Consultants and Senior Consultants, supporting their technical and professional development.
• Champion the practical use of AI, automation and analytics to improve how advisory work is delivered.

About the Role

Our Project & Infrastructure Advisory team works with government and private sector clients to shape, evaluate and deliver major infrastructure and development projects across Australia.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to join our growing Brisbane team and take a leading role across complex infrastructure advisory engagements.

Working across sectors including transport, energy, utilities, social infrastructure, precinct development, resource recovery and environmental infrastructure, you’ll provide strategic, commercial and financial advice that supports major investment and delivery decisions.

In this role, you will:

About You

You’re an experienced infrastructure, commercial or financial advisory professional who combines strong analytical capability with commercial thinking, leadership and confident client engagement.

Ideally, you will bring:

• A degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Engineering, Business or a related discipline.
