Job summary

BDO, a global professional services firm, is seeking an experienced Project & Infrastructure Advisory professional in Brisbane. You will lead complex engagements, oversee financial modelling, and guide business cases, funding strategies and delivery models for major infrastructure projects.

You will mentor teams, build senior stakeholder relationships, and champion AI-driven analytics to enhance advisory delivery across government and private sectors.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Engineering, or Business.
• Experience in infrastructure or commercial advisory.
• Strong financial modelling and scenario analysis.
• Experience leading business cases and feasibility studies.
• Exposure to government or private sector infrastructure projects.
• Ability to translate analysis into practical recommendations.
• Proven client engagement and team leadership.

About the Role

Our Project & Infrastructure Advisory team works with government and private sector clients to shape, evaluate and deliver major infrastructure and development projects across Australia.

In this role, you will:

• Lead complex commercial, financial and strategic advisory engagements across major infrastructure and development projects.
• Oversee financial modelling and analysis supporting business cases, funding strategies, investment decisions, pricing, cost recovery and financial sustainability.
• Lead business cases, feasibility studies and commercial assessments, bringing together financial, economic and technical inputs.
• Advise clients on project viability, investment priorities, funding and delivery models, procurement strategies and commercial risk.
• Manage multidisciplinary engagements from scoping through to delivery, including budgets, resourcing, quality and project risks.
• Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across government, infrastructure, utilities and the private sector.
• Work alongside Partners to identify new opportunities, develop proposals and grow existing client relationships.
• Coach and mentor Consultants and Senior Consultants, supporting their technical and professional development.
• Champion the practical use of AI, automation and analytics to improve how advisory work is delivered.

About You

You're an experienced infrastructure, commercial or financial advisory professional who combines strong analytical capability with commercial thinking, leadership and confident client engagement.

Ideally, you will bring:

• A degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Engineering, Business or a related discipline.
• Significant experience within infrastructure advisory, commercial advisory, management consulting, project finance, corporate finance, or a comparable government or industry environment.
• Strong financial modelling capability, including reviewing complex models, challenging assumptions and interpreting scenarios and sensitivities.
• Experience leading business cases, feasibility studies, commercial assessments or investment analysis.
• Exposure to major infrastructure, capital projects or complex investment programs across government and/or the private sector.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate complex financial and technical analysis into clear, practical recommendations.
• Demonstrated experience leading client engagements and managing multiple workstreams.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with confidence engaging senior decision-makers.
• Business development experience, including proposal development, identifying opportunities and building long-term client relationships.
• A genuine interest in AI, automation and emerging technologies, with experience exploring how they can improve analysis and professional workflows.
• A collaborative leadership style and a genuine interest in developing and mentoring others.
