Job summary

Rockhampton Regional Council is seeking a Senior Management Accountant to join the Finance team. You will lead statutory reporting, budgeting and financial analysis, and provide expert financial advice across the organisation.

Reporting to the Management Accounting and Treasury Supervisor, you will drive timely financial reporting and support audits, while mentoring team members and contributing to continuous improvement in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Accounting (or related discipline).
• Extensive knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and statutory reporting.
• Experience in budgeting, financial analysis, reporting and performance monitoring.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and financial reporting skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Advanced Excel and financial systems skills, with mentoring capability.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and statutory reporting for the organisation.
• Lead budgeting processes and financial analysis to support decision-making.
• Provide expert financial advice and support across the organisation.
