Job summary

Peoplebank is seeking a Senior Mainframe Developer for a long-term contract. The role is hybrid across ACT, NSW, VIC, QLD or SA, with onsite work required for the first 6 weeks.

You will design, develop and maintain mainframe applications and collaborate with stakeholders across government ICT environments. The candidate should have SFIA Level 4 capabilities, strong programming, and experience in release/deployment, testing, and enterprise configurations.

Qualifications

• Experience applying software development methods, tools and standards (SFIA Level 4).
• Strong programming and software development capability for complex applications.
• Experience supporting release and deployment activities (SFIA 4).
• Experience designing software configurations for enterprise environments (SFIA 4).
• Ability to undertake complete software design for moderately complex applications (SFIA 3).
• Experience with system components design using architectures and patterns (SFIA 4).
• Proven experience with systems integration, build activities and integration testing (SFIA 4).
• Experience designing and executing test cases, including automated testing (SFIA 3).
• Strong stakeholder engagement and documentation skills.
• Experience in large government or enterprise ICT environments.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Undertake analysis, design, development, prototyping, testing and maintenance activities.
• Develop and maintain complex mainframe applications and software solutions.
• Perform technical analysis and provide recommendations for solution design and implementation.
• Define software and technical designs for high-complexity custom, migration and integration solutions.
• Support development teams in delivering quality ICT solutions.
• Ensure compliance with software development standards, methodologies and best practices.
• Provide go-live support, maintenance and troubleshooting for production systems.
• Develop technical documentation, reports and design artefacts.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver project outcomes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and innovative technology solutions.
• Monitor workloads and delivery outcomes to achieve business objectives.
• Provide technical guidance and support to senior stakeholders and team members.
