Job summary

KeyMoves in Melbourne seeks a capable lawyer to join a specialist disputes team handling a broad range of commercial litigation and complex disputes, including class actions. You will own matters, develop strong client relationships and contribute to the growth of the Melbourne practice.

You will work with experienced litigators, draft pleadings, provide strategic advice, and mentor junior lawyers in a collaborative environment within the Melbourne office.

Qualifications

• PAE of 4 years in litigation and complex disputes.
• Class actions experience highly regarded.
• Ability to autonomously manage matters and own files.
• Strong drafting, research and analytical skills.
• Experience appearing in court or assisting with litigation proceedings.
• Confidence dealing directly with clients and Counsel.
• Interest in mentoring and developing junior lawyers.
• A genuine interest in business development and growing a practice.

Responsibilities

• Managing commercial litigation matters from inception through to resolution
• Working on complex and high-value disputes and class actions
• Developing litigation strategy and providing commercially focused advice
• Drafting pleadings, affidavits, submissions, correspondence and other court documents
• Conducting legal research and preparing detailed advice
• Appearing in court and assisting with hearings and interlocutory matters
• Working closely with Counsel, experts and other stakeholders
• Managing client relationships and providing strategic legal advice
• Mentoring and supporting junior lawyers
• Contributing to business development and the growth of the Melbourne practice
