Job summary

DXC Technology Australia & New Zealand is seeking a Senior Linux/Unix Server Administrator to design, deploy and support enterprise‑grade Linux/Unix environments across physical, virtual and cloud platforms, with a strong preference for OCI experience. Adelaide is the preferred location, with flexibility for experienced candidates from elsewhere in Australia.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on Linux/Unix server administration in enterprise environments.
• Deep experience with RHEL or Oracle Linux.
• Experience with AIX, Solaris, or HP-UX.
• Strong TCP/IP networking and storage knowledge.
• Scripting/automation with Bash, Python or Perl.
• Experience with virtualization platforms like VMware, KVM or OVM.
• Familiarity with ITIL incident/change/problem processes.
• Excellent communication with clients.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and administer Linux/Unix environments across physical, virtual and cloud platforms.
• Manage infrastructure across physical, virtual and cloud environments.
• Provision OCI Compute, networking, storage and IAM services.
• Perform OS patching, upgrades, kernel tuning and lifecycle management.
• Develop automation using Bash/Python/Perl/Ansible.
• Support infrastructure‑as‑code deployments using Terraform and OCI tools.
• Apply OS hardening and remediation for security/compliance.
• Monitor platform health, capacity and performance; lead root cause analysis.
• Maintain runbooks and operational documentation.
