Job summary

DXC Technology is seeking an experienced Senior Linux/Unix Server Administrator to design, deploy and support enterprise Linux/Unix environments across physical, virtual and cloud platforms. A strong preference for OCI experience is noted, with Adelaide as the preferred location but candidates from elsewhere in Australia will be considered.

You will work with client stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure stability, security, and performance, while implementing automation and IaC

Qualifications

• Hands-on Linux/Unix server administration in enterprise or managed services.
• Deep expertise in RHEL or Oracle Linux.
• Experience with additional Unix platforms (AIX/Solaris/HP-UX).
• Strong TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, NFS and storage knowledge.
• Scripting/automation with Bash, Python or Perl.
• Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, KVM, OVM).
• Familiarity with ITIL incident/change/problem management.
• Analytical, troubleshooting skills and client-facing confidence.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy and support enterprise Linux/Unix environments across physical, virtual and cloud.
• Manage OCI Compute, networking, storage and IAM services.
• Patch OS, perform upgrades, kernel tuning and lifecycle management.
• Configure high availability, clustering, disaster recovery solutions.
• Develop automation with Bash/Ksh, Python and/or Ansible.
• Support IaC deployments using Terraform, OCI CLI and OCI Resource Manager.
• Apply security hardening and remediation for compliance.
• Monitor platform health, capacity and performance.
• Provide L2/L3 support and lead root cause analysis.
• Maintain runbooks and technical procedures.
