Job summary

Zurich Australia is seeking an Underwriter within the Financial Lines team to drive sustainable growth across Australia and New Zealand. You will assess complex risks, foster broker relationships, and help deliver profitable outcomes across a diverse Financial Lines portfolio.

You will influence underwriting strategy, coach emerging talent, and contribute to data-driven decision making while working in a forward-looking, digitally enabled environment.

Qualifications

• Underwriting experience across Financial Lines products such as D&O, Professional Indemnity, Management Liability, and Cyber.
• Experience developing and managing broker and distribution partnerships.
• Proven ability to grow a portfolio and execute business strategies within a complex insurance environment.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen with a sound understanding of portfolio performance.
• Experience coaching, mentoring, or developing less experienced underwriters.

Responsibilities

• Manage new and renewal Financial Lines business within delegated authority levels.
• Build and maintain broker, distributor, and customer relationships to support growth and retention.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities aligned with underwriting strategy.
• Provide technical underwriting guidance across Financial Lines products and coverage matters.
• Coach and mentor team members to enhance underwriting capability.
• Contribute to data-driven decision making across the portfolio.
