Job summary

QBE Insurance invites applications for a Senior Underwriter - Liability to join our Commercial Underwriting team. This role requires technical underwriting excellence, broker engagement and leadership to coach others.

You'll underwrite complex new business, renewals and endorsements within delegated authority, build relationships, monitor portfolio performance and contribute to profitability and sustainable growth.

Qualifications

• Extensive commercial underwriting experience with strong liability expertise.
• Ability to manage a profitable portfolio through broker engagement.
• Excellent stakeholder management with brokers, clients and internal teams.
• Experience coaching junior underwriters and sharing technical knowledge.
• Analytical mindset with ability to interpret portfolio performance and market trends.
• High attention to detail and commitment to underwriting governance.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite complex new business, renewals and endorsements within delegated authority.
• Build and maintain strong broker relationships to drive profitable growth.
• Identify opportunities while maintaining underwriting discipline and compliance.
• Coach and share expertise with Underwriters to build capability.
• Monitor portfolio performance and contribute to profitability strategies.
• Ensure accurate underwriting administration, pricing, risk assessment and policy management.
