Job summary

Bouygues Construction Australia seeks a Senior Legal Counsel to provide strategic, commercially minded legal advice across complex projects, contracts and operations. The role supports risk management, policy development and governance within a large construction group.

Based in Sydney with flexible working, the position reports to the General Counsel and may involve occasional domestic/international travel.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with admission and practising certificate in Australia or a common law jurisdiction.
• Significant senior or specialist in-house or private practice experience.
• Experience in construction, infrastructure, energy sectors.
• M&A or corporate/commercial exposure desirable.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate head contracts with public and private sector clients.
• Provide strategic, commercially focused legal advice to management.
• Identify and manage legal, contractual, regulatory risks.
• Manage external legal advisers and contribute to policy development.
• Support corporate initiatives including acquisition activity.
