Job summary

JS Careers are pleased to partner with a purpose-driven investment organisation to recruit a Senior Legal Counsel in Sydney, Australia.

The role reports to the Head of Legal and provides strategic and commercial advice across investment, corporate and operational matters, supporting structuring and execution of sophisticated transactions, governance, regulatory matters, and risk management.

Qualifications

• Admission as an Australian legal practitioner with a current practising certificate.
• Approximately 7+ years PQE in a leading law firm, financial institution or in-house team.
• Strong experience advising on complex financing and investment transactions.
• Excellent commercial judgement and ability to balance legal, regulatory and business considerations.
• Highly developed drafting, negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and build trusted partnerships across diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and commercial legal advice across investment, corporate and operational matters.
• Partner with investment and business teams to structure and execute sophisticated transactions, advise on governance and regulatory matters, and manage legal risk.
• Contribute to development of legal frameworks and best practice across the organisation.
• Combine high-quality transactional work with commercial influence in a collaborative, purpose-led environment.
