Aclaria seeks a commercially driven Senior Legal Counsel to join its in-house team. You will work closely with the General Counsel, handling a broad mix of corporate, commercial and regulatory matters while contributing to strategic governance and growth.

With 7–10 years' PQE, you will help shape the legal function, mentor junior lawyers, support major transactions, and position the team for future Head of Legal leadership.

Formación

• Approximately 7-10 years' PQE, gained in reputable law firms, in-house environment or both.
• Strong corporate and commercial legal experience, including contract drafting, negotiation and general advisory work.
• Ability to navigate complex legal and regulatory matters and deliver clear, commercially sensible advice.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage with senior business leaders.
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work autonomously.
• Genuine interest in developing strategic leadership and legal management capabilities.

Responsabilidades

• Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice across corporate, commercial and regulatory matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts and support significant business transactions.
• Advise on regulatory and compliance obligations, including privacy, corporate governance, consumer law and financial services regulation.
• Partner with senior stakeholders on strategic business initiatives, growth opportunities and regulatory change projects.
• Identify and manage legal risks, providing clear, pragmatic advice that supports commercial objectives.
• Support corporate governance, legal operations and development of internal legal frameworks and processes.
• Contribute to emerging business initiatives, including technology, AI adoption and digital transformation projects.

About The Opportunity

Aclaria is partnering with an established organisation in the financial services sector to appoint a Senior Legal Counsel to its in-house legal team.

This is a full-time opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer with approximately 7-10 years' post-qualification experience who is ready to take the next step in their career.

Working closely with the General Counsel, you will gain exposure to a broad range of commercial, corporate and regulatory matters, while playing an increasingly strategic role in supporting the business.

Importantly, this position offers a clear focus on accelerated career development and succession planning, with the intention of developing the successful candidate into a future Head of Legal. You will benefit from direct mentorship, increasing autonomy and exposure to senior leadership, building the technical, commercial and leadership capabilities required to lead an in-house legal function.

Key Responsibilities

About You

We are looking for an ambitious lawyer who is looking for more than their next Senior Legal Counsel role and is motivated to develop into a future legal leader.

Ideally, You Will Bring

• Approximately 7-10 years' PQE, gained in a reputable law firm, in-house environment or combination of both.
• Strong corporate and commercial legal experience, including contract drafting, negotiation and general advisory work.
• The ability to navigate complex legal and regulatory matters and deliver clear, commercially sensible advice.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage with senior business leaders.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work autonomously.
• A genuine interest in developing your strategic, leadership and legal management capabilities.

Experience in financial services, regulated industries, corporate governance or M&A would be advantageous but is not essential.
