The Search Firm is seeking a Legal Counsel to join an in-house team in Sydney. You will provide trusted, practical legal advice across a broad range of commercial matters while helping to manage legal risk and ensure regulatory compliance.
Reporting to the General Counsel & Company Secretary, you will draft, review and negotiate agreements, policies and court documents, and support compliance initiatives and process improvements.

Reporting to the General Counsel & Company Secretary, you will provide trusted, practical legal advice across a diverse range of business matters while helping to manage legal risk and support regulatory compliance.
As Legal Counsel, you will manage a varied portfolio of commercial legal matters and provide clear, timely and pragmatic advice to internal stakeholders. You will work across agreements, policies, claims, regulatory developments and business initiatives, with a strong focus on managing legal risk and maintaining professional standards.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing clear written and verbal legal advice on commercial arrangements, claims, operational matters and regulatory or legislative developments.
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating legal documents, including agreements, policies, precedents and court documents.
Supporting ongoing compliance with legal advice and contractual obligations.
Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand priorities, provide progress updates and deliver advice within agreed timeframes.
Engaging with external legal advisers, regulators, courts and tribunals where required.
Supporting legal process improvement, precedent development, business education and broader team projects.
You are a commercially astute lawyer with strong judgement, excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex legal issues into plain-English advice. You are proactive, highly organised and comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will have 3+ years PQE either from a law firm or in-house environment working on a broad range of commercial matters including Intellectual Property, franchising, privacy and competition and consumer law.
