Job summary

Monash University’s Department of Microbiology on the Clayton Campus invites applications for a Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor. You will lead high-impact teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs, supervise honours and HDR students, and shape an innovative research agenda in microbiology.

Qualifications

• Doctoral qualification in microbiology or a relevant discipline.
• Strong record of research achievement with high-quality publications.
• Experience in tertiary teaching, curriculum development and course coordination.
• Commitment to supervising HDR students and mentoring staff.
• Demonstrated ability to provide academic leadership and build collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials and practical classes across undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
• Develop and coordinate curriculum and provide high-quality assessment.
• Supervise honours and HDR students and contribute to postgraduate training.
• Develop and deliver an independent, externally funded research program.
• Lead research collaboration and demonstrate academic leadership within the University.
