  • Full-time, ongoing role based at our Rozelle Campus, Sydney, commencing January 2027

About the opportunity

Based at our Sydney (Rozelle) campus, this is an opportunity for an experienced pharmacy educator or practitioner to bring their expertise to a teaching-focused senior academic role within the University of Tasmania's School of Pharmacy and Pharmacology.

This position plays a critical role in leading therapeutics and pharmacy practice teaching for nursing and other health students in Sydney, bringing medicines expertise into interprofessional health education. The role will also support teaching across our pharmacy programs through digitally enabled delivery within the University's multi-campus learning environment.

Working across a connected, multi-campus learning environment, you will provide leadership in learning and teaching, coordinate key areas of the curriculum, deliver and support teaching across locations using contemporary digital approaches, mentor colleagues, and contribute to the ongoing development of innovative and engaging learning experiences.

This role is ideally suited to a registered pharmacist with significant clinical expertise and a passion for education. You will bring either a PhD or an equivalent combination of professional standing, academic achievement and clinical experience, along with the ability to foster teaching excellence and support the development of colleagues. While the position is based in Sydney, occasional travel to Tasmania may be required as part of our connected, multi-campus approach to learning and collaboration.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and deliver high-quality learning and teaching in therapeutics and pharmacy practice across nursing, pharmacy and other health programs, with a particular focus on interprofessional medicines education.
  • Support teaching and curriculum delivery across the School's pharmacy programs through remote, digitally enabled and multi-campus teaching.
  • Drive curriculum innovation and teaching excellence, developing contemporary learning experiences that improve educational practice across courses, cohorts and campuses.
  • Provide academic leadership and mentorship, supporting colleagues, sharing expertise, and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to research and scholarship in pharmacy, building the evidence base for practice through research, publications, and collaboration.
  • Build and strengthen partnerships with the pharmacy profession, healthcare sector, industry, and broader community to enhance teaching, research and workforce outcomes.

What we’re looking for:

  • Contemporary clinical expertise in therapeutics and pharmacy practice, with advanced scope of practice qualifications highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated excellence in university-level teaching and learning, including curriculum development and unit coordination, with the ability to deliver high-quality teaching across face-to-face, online and multi-campus environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to interprofessional learning and to teach therapeutics and medicines-related content across pharmacy, nursing and other health disciplines.
  • Ability to provide academic leadership, mentor colleagues, and contribute to teaching innovation and student success.
  • A strong track record of building effective partnerships with the pharmacy profession, healthcare organisations, industry and the wider community.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and contribute positively to a shared culture and goals.
  • An emerging or established research profile, evidenced through publications, conference presentations, research supervision and/or success in attracting funding.
