Job summary

Government Schools is seeking a Learning Specialist (Mathematics) in Australia. The role focuses on modelling excellence in teaching and leading curriculum planning across the school to lift student outcomes.

You will mentor teachers, supervise student teachers, and provide evidence-based feedback to support ongoing professional growth. The successful candidate will demonstrate expert curriculum knowledge, strong literacy and numeracy leadership, and a proven track record of coaching colleagues

Qualifications

• Registered teacher with eligibility for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach the specified curriculum areas.
• Demonstrated ability to model exemplary teaching across the curriculum including literacy and numeracy.
• Experience mentoring/coaching teachers and providing expert professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Lead and model whole-school improvement strategies related to curriculum planning and delivery.
• Provide evidence-based feedback to teaching staff for effectiveness and development.
• Offer expert advice on context, processes and strategies shaping professional learning.
• Supervise and train student teachers and mentor and/or coach teachers.
