Job summary

Urbis Brisbane is seeking a Senior Landscape Architect to join our team of landscape architects, urban designers and design specialists. Lead and contribute to city-building projects across Southeast Queensland, from new communities to public realm and placemaking, in a boutique studio culture within a national consultancy.

You will manage small to medium projects, prepare designs from concept through to construction, work with multidisciplinary teams, supervise site work where required, and

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Landscape Architecture.
  • Minimum 4–8 years of relevant experience.
  • Advanced graphical communication using digital and hand-drawn formats.
  • Understanding of landscape principles in urban environments.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino or other 3D modelling software.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite.
  • Ability to manage client priorities and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Support local and National Design teams by managing small to medium projects and coordinating with multidisciplinary Urbis teams.
  • Deliver site analysis, master planning, concept and design development, documentation, tendering, and construction administration.
  • Apply landscape architecture knowledge across design phases with input from concept to construction documentation.
  • Provide site supervision where required and demonstrate understanding of Australian Standards and Building Codes.
  • Collaborate with professionals across multi-disciplinary projects to meet briefs, deadlines and budgets.
  • Assist in preparing fee proposals, tenders, and tracking project fees with updates to senior staff.
  • Attend meetings with clients, consultants, and internal teams to support delivery and engagement.
  • Support team members and promote the firm’s services to generate business opportunities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Supporting local and National Design teams by managing small to medium projects and coordinating with multidisciplinary Urbis teams across diverse project types,including urban regeneration, greenfield developments, infrastructure, and commercial precincts.

Delivering key services such as site analysis, master planning, concept and design development, documentation, tendering, and construction administration.

Applying a strong understanding of landscape architecture and construction processes (phases, deliverables, contract documents, and client expectations), with creative landscape and public realm design input from concept through to design development, documentation, and construction administration.

Providing site supervision for projects, whererequired, anddemonstratinga well-developed understanding of relevant Australian Standards, Building Codes, and industry standards as applicable to each project.

Working efficiently and collaboratively with other professionals across multi-disciplinary projects—responding to briefs, meeting deadlines, staying within budget, andmaintaininga commercial focus.

Assistingin the preparation of fee proposals, tenders, and tracking project fees with regular updates to the Assignment Manager or Director.

Attending meetings with clients, consultants, industry representatives, and internal team members to support effective project delivery and client engagement.

Supporting fellow team members in meeting project requirements and contributing to the promotion of the firm and its services to generate business opportunities.

About you:

Tertiary qualifications in Landscape Architecture at a graduate or post graduate level

Minimum4-8years relevant experience, ideally gained in a private practice or with local council or government.

Communicates graphically atan advancedlevel using both digital and hand drawnformats to convey design ideas,conceptsand documentation

Brings an understanding of design principles and methods and the ability to apply them in the urban environment.

Advanced and efficient skills in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino and/or other 3D modelling software

Advanced and efficient skills in relevant components of the Adobe Suite

Successfully manages client priorities andexpectations;

Demonstrates adaptability when dealing with problems and changes topriorities;

Communicates graphically at an advanced level using both digital and hand drawn formats to convey design ideas and concepts or documentation
