Job summary

Logan City Council is seeking a Senior Landscape Architect to lead design and delivery of parkland and road landscape projects, mentor staff and provide expert technical guidance. You will engage stakeholders and coordinate across teams to realise sustainable, community-focused solutions.

The role reports to the Design Coordinator and emphasizes innovation, design excellence and continuous improvement within a collaborative council environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Landscape Architecture or related design discipline.
• Registered Landscape Architect (AILA) highly desirable.
• 5+ years of experience delivering complex landscape architecture projects, especially public open space, parks and road corridors.
• Strong project management skills and ability to manage competing priorities within budget and timeframes.
• Experience preparing design documentation, technical reports, briefs and cost estimates.
• Ability to develop innovative and practical design solutions for landscape and open space challenges.

Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare landscape designs, technical docs, reports and specs for parkland and road projects.
• Deliver high-quality design outcomes meeting objectives, timeframes and budgets.
• Prepare cost estimates, budgets and Safety in Design assessments.
• Ensure compliance with standards, safety and policies.
• Prepare consultancy briefs, scopes and procurement docs for specialists.
• Manage consultants and contractors to achieve timely, cost-effective outcomes.
• Identify opportunities for future projects and contribute to strategies.
• Provide specialist landscape advice to internal teams.
• Coordinate stakeholder and community consultation activities.
• Build relationships with stakeholders and external partners.
• Provide mentoring and technical guidance to Landscape Architects.
• Prepare funding submissions and accountability docs.
• Monitor and report on progress and outcomes.
