Job summary

Place Design Group in Sydney's Waterloo studio is seeking a Senior or Associate-level Landscape Architect to lead design and documentation for public and private landscapes. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to shape places that respond to people, place, Country, and urban form.

You bring a degree in Landscape Architecture, strong knowledge of Australian landscapes, and experience in design development, documentation, and BIM workflows. Proficiency with Revit and CAD is valued.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Landscape Architecture with IALA/AILA registration or eligibility preferred.
• Experience in design development, documentation, and delivery of landscape projects.
• Proficiency with BIM workflows and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

What You Will Do

You’ll play a key role in leading design and documentation across a range of exciting public and private projects. Your creative flair, technical skill, and ability to see the big picture will help bring projects to life — from early concept through to construction. In this role you will:

• Lead and coordinate project documentation, ensuring outcomes are creative, practical, and people-focused.
• Develop design concepts and construction packages that communicate vision and precision.
• Collaborate closely with clients, consultants, and our talented internal teams — including our BIM specialists.
• Contribute to project administration and delivery, managing time, cost, and quality.
• Grow your expertise through professional development and exposure to diverse project types.

About You

You’re a designer who thrives on collaboration, cares deeply about the quality of your work, and wants to make a difference in the places you help create. You will bring:

• A degree in Landscape Architecture (AILA registration or eligibility preferred).
• Strong knowledge of Australian landscapes and plant communities.
• Proven experience in design development, documentation, and delivery.
• Proficiency in Revit and working within BIM systems and workflows is preferred.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Revit, and/or CAD software is highly regarded.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills — confident collaborating across disciplines.
• Initiative, curiosity, and the motivation to contribute to a supportive, design-driven culture.
• A relationship builder who can maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, internally and externally.
• Reliable and accountable
• Full working rights in Australia (citizen, PR, or valid full-time visa).
