The Opportunity

The Brisbane landscape team is looking for a Senior Landscape Architect to lead the landscape design of significant Queensland projects, from early concept through documentation and construction. You'll work closely with architects, urban designers, engineers and specialist consultants. The role suits someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, such as integrating landscape with structure, services, stormwater and public realm requirements, while keeping strong design quality from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead landscape projects from concept and schematic design through design development, detailed documentation and contract administration
  • Develop and coordinate landscape documentation in Revit, including federating and clash-checking landscape models with architectural, civil, structural and services models
  • Resolve technical design elements such as levels and grading, hardscape detailing, planting design, soil profiles and podium/on-structure landscapes
  • Integrate water-sensitive urban design (WSUD), stormwater management and irrigation strategies with civil and hydraulic engineers
  • Prepare specifications, planting schedules, material palettes and construction details suited to Queensland's subtropical climate
  • Coordinate with arborists, ecologists, civil engineers, lighting designers and other consultants to deliver integrated outcomes
  • Manage project programs, fees, resourcing and deliverables, and act as a key point of contact for clients and stakeholders
  • Review and respond to authority requirements, including development approval conditions and council and state agency standards
  • Support construction-phase services, including RFIs, shop drawing reviews, site inspections and defects assessments
  • Mentor and guide junior and graduate landscape architects through design reviews and technical training
Skills Required
  • Substantial professional experience at senior level within landscape architecture
  • Registered Landscape Architect (AILA), or eligible for registration
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale civic, health, infrastructure, transport or complex urban public realm projects
  • Advanced Revit skills for landscape documentation and multidisciplinary model coordination; experience with Rhino or similar tools is valued
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction detailing, materials, grading, drainage and planting design
  • Working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, CPTED and Universal Access principles, and sustainability frameworks such as Green Star or ISCA
  • Strong project management skills, including programming, budgeting and consultant coordination
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary design environment
  • Clear written, verbal and graphic communication, with confidence presenting to clients and stakeholders
  • A collaborative approach and a commitment to developing others
  • A strong interest in sustainable, climate-responsive and forward-thinking landscape design
The Benefits
  • Paid parental leave for primary and secondary carers
  • Flexible and hybrid working, including options for location and work patterns
