Job summary

Launceston College, part of the Tasmania Government education system, is seeking a Senior Laboratory Technician to coordinate the daily operations of the science unit. You will provide technical support, handle administrative duties, and schedule experiments in consultation with supervising teachers to maintain high laboratory standards.

The role offers full-time ongoing employment starting 1 January 2027, with 73.5 hours per fortnight.

Qualifications

• Diploma of Laboratory Technology or equivalent required.
• Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP) with registration Status – Employment required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the daily operations of a school or college science unit.
• Provide technical support and undertake associated administrative duties.
• Coordinate functions and tasks, including scheduling of experiments in consultation with the supervising teacher/s.

Education

Diploma of Laboratory Technology, or equivalent TAFE or post‑secondary qualification appropriate to the nature of the work.
