Job summary

Qualifications

• Diploma of Laboratory Technology, relevant science degree, or equivalent experience/skills.
• Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Employment category).
• Current National Police Check (issued within the last 6 months).
• Strong knowledge of laboratory safety, chemical handling, and work health and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials, equipment, and experiments for Years 7–12 classes.
• Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment with proper storage, handling and disposal of chemicals.
• Assist teaching staff with demonstrations, experiments and technical instruction.
• Support senior students with IB Internal Assessment tasks and investigations.
• Maintain accurate records of laboratory resources, equipment, and purchases.
• Undertake routine repairs, maintenance, or sourcing of laboratory apparatus.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, risk management, and school policies.
• Promote child-safe culture and follow mandatory reporting requirements.
