Job summary

Services Australia is seeking a Senior Java Developer to lead design, development, testing and maintenance of enterprise Java/J2EE and Angular applications. You will guide delivery within agile teams, drive code quality and ensure robust solutions across the agency's environments.

The role requires hands-on experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs and modern front-end frameworks, plus strong mentoring of more junior staff. Hybrid work options from ACT and other states are available.

Qualifications

• Senior experience designing, developing, testing and maintaining enterprise Java/J2EE/Angular applications.
• Experience delivering IT solutions using SDLC in an agile environment with leadership.
• Ability to develop technical documentation and integrate with frameworks.
• Strong communication with stakeholders and cross-team collaboration.
• Knowledge of enterprise SDLC, QA and release management practices.
• Desirable security, privacy and accessibility knowledge for government ICT.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain back-end services using Java, Spring Boot and related frameworks.
• Build responsive front-ends with modern frameworks.
• Write clean, maintainable, testable code following best practices.
• Provide technical guidance on development and code quality improvements.
• Lead analysis, design, development, testing and maintenance activities.
• Manage application releases and go-live production support.
• Perform high-level analysis of technical requirements for project evaluation.
• Undertake design and development of complex solutions and migrations.
• Support development teams to comply with endorsed methodologies.
• Share knowledge and mentor less experienced colleagues.
• Design, build, test and support outcomes across the Government SDLC.
