Job summary

Profusion Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, implement and evolve Core Banking and Payments platforms. You will contribute to technical design, improve reliability and deliver scalable solutions in a dynamic, high-growth environment.

The role emphasises collaboration, mentoring and rigorous code reviews, with hybrid work in Melbourne and a focus on security and operational excellence across complex financial systems.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot and microservices.
• Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and NoSQL databases.
• Experience designing and delivering APIs for large-scale applications.
• Knowledge of event-driven architecture and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of security, reliability and operational excellence.
• Experience with DevOps practices, incident management and continuous improvement.
• Collaborative mentoring, code reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Exposure to AI-assisted development tools is highly regarded.
• Previous payments domain experience is advantageous.
