The Onset is searching for a Senior Java Engineer to modernise and replatform a suite of cloud‑based applications. You will lead features and technical initiatives, influence architecture, and help steer the AI strategy across the engineering team.

You’ll stay hands‑on with Java, Spring Boot and cloud work while mentoring peers and raising technical standards as part of a broader transformation program.

Qualifications

• Proven deep Java and Spring Boot expertise.
• Strong microservices and REST API design experience.
• Architecture and system design capability.
• Cloud experience across GCP, AWS or multi‑cloud.
• Strong focus on resilience and observability.
• Experience leading features, POCs or technical initiatives.
• Ability to mentor engineers and influence engineering standards.
• Genuine interest in AI‑assisted engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead features, technical initiatives and proof‑of‑concepts.
• Influence architecture and design decisions across the transformation.
• Help replatform existing applications onto a modern cloud‑native stack.
