Job summary

Davidson is recruiting a Senior Java Engineer in Brisbane to develop and operate enterprise-grade digital identity platforms. You will deliver secure Java/JEE applications, reactive microservices and RESTful APIs, while configuring identity services such as Keycloak or Red Hat SSO.

• Advanced Java/JEE development experience with Spring Boot and RESTful services.

• Experience with SQL/PostgreSQL, Maven and data formats (JSON/XML).
• Exposure to AWS, Kubernetes, containers and CI/CD (GitHub Actions).

The Opportunity

Davidson is partnering with a Queensland Government department to recruit an experienced Senior Java Engineer to support the development, enhancement and ongoing operation of enterprise Digital Identity and Microservices platforms. Based in Brisbane CBD, this opportunity is suited to a hands-on engineer with strong Java development expertise and specialist experience in identity management, authentication and secure API development.

About the Role

• Develop and enhance Java/JEE applications, reactive microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Extend, configure and support Keycloak or Red Hat SSO identity management solutions.
• Implement secure authentication and identity federation capabilities.
• Contribute to platform reliability, availability and security within high-assurance environments.

About You

We are seeking a technically strong Senior Java Engineer with demonstrated experience delivering secure enterprise applications and identity solutions.

• Advanced Java/JEE development experience, including Spring Boot, reactive microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on expertise developing or extending Keycloak or Red Hat SSO.
• Strong understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML and identity federation.
• Experience with SQL, PostgreSQL, Maven, JSON/XML and automated testing frameworks.
• Exposure to AWS, Kubernetes, containers, GitHub Actions and DevSecOps practices.
• Experience supporting highly available, security-sensitive platforms; knowledge of HTML5, CSS and responsive design is advantageous.
