Job description

Our Client

Our client is a large NSW Government organisation operating within a broad public service portfolio that supports millions of people across the state. The organisation sits within a major NSW Government department with more than 12,000 people across over 30 agencies, entities and business units. Its technology functions are focused on digital transformation, modern service delivery, cloud adoption and the ongoing improvement of large-scale government platforms. The broader portfolio includes significant regulatory, customer service and revenue-related functions, with technology teams delivering systems that support essential services across NSW. The environment combines established enterprise platforms with modernisation initiatives, creating an opportunity for experienced developers who are comfortable working across both legacy and contemporary technology stacks. The role involves working across existing Java and Oracle environments while introducing modern development practices, Spring Boot services, cloud technologies and containerised solutions. The successful candidates will bring strong backend development capability, sound database knowledge and the ability to understand and improve complex legacy systems. Experience applying AI‑enabled development tools to legacy codebases or migration activities will also be viewed favourably.
