Job summary

LVT People in Australia is seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer for a leading IT consulting client in Sydney. You will design, code and test software to meet client requirements, and take ownership of complex projects.

You will mentor junior developers and collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile/Scrum practices, with strong emphasis on quality and reactive programming.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Java development.
• 5+ years of experience in Java 8+ and microservices.
• Experience with AWS, reactive patterns, and Agile/Scrum.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer for a leading IT consulting client in Sydney. You will be responsible for designing, coding and testing software applications to meet client requirements. As a Senior Java Developer, you will be working on complex projects, taking ownership of the code and providing guidance to junior developers. Our client is a dynamic and growing consulting firm with a focus on delivering innovative digital solutions to leading banks, ASX-listed companies, and government agencies.

Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in Java development
• 5+ years of experience in Java 8+
• 3+ years of experience in Microservice and familiar with Microservice patterns
• 2+ years of hands-on development experience in AWS
• 6+ months experience in Spring WebFlux or a clear understanding of Webflux with the ability to write Reactive services
• Strong knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS, Docker, Kubernetes etc...
• Experience in multithreading, modularity of code, and de-coupling with APIs
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and JIRA
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
