Taronga Zoo Sydney is seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of Taronga's digital ticketing and unified commerce transformation. You will drive project governance, align business and technology needs, and coordinate internal teams with external partners to deliver on time and within budget.

The role requires strong experience with PRINCE2/PMBOK/Agile, plus change management skills to realise benefits and sustain operational readiness across multiple

Qualifications

• Proven experience in leading transformational IT projects in a complex organisational environment.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2, PMBOK, Agile) and governance frameworks.
• Skilled in designing solutions based on business analysis and enterprise architecture principles
• Demonstrated experience leading organisational change and adoption activities using recognised methodologies (e.g. PROSCI ADKAR) to achieve sustainable business outcomes and benefits realisation.
• Demonstrated ability to align project delivery with strategic objectives and manage competing priorities.
• Demonstrated business partnering, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence business and technology outcomes.
• Strong attention to detail with a process‑driven, continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a Ticketing Transformation – Attractions Visitor Commerce Platform that supports Taronga's strategic objectives, enhances guest experience, integrates with enterprise systems, and provides a scalable foundation for future growth.
• Maintain an integrated program that delivers agreed scope, benefits, quality, time and budget outcomes, while proactively managing risks, dependencies and constraints.
• Align business, technology and operational requirements into a single enterprise solution that meets stakeholders' needs across the organisation.
• Successfully complete procurement, vendor selection and contracting activities, ensuring the chosen solution and partners deliver long‑term value, capability and strategic fit.
• Work with the Business User Champion to coordinate internal teams and external partners for cohesive delivery of a multi-stream transformation program.
• Establish governance, assurance and compliance practices that support informed decision‑making and transparency.
• Provide executives with visibility of program performance, risks, decisions and benefits realisation for timely decisions.
• Achieve transition to business‑as‑usual through change management, readiness, adoption and benefits realisation.
• Balance strategic leadership with hands‑on delivery, including artefacts, requirements, testing coordination, defect triage and readiness across streams.

is looking for an experienced and motivated Senior IT Project Manager to join our Corporate Services team!

A key leader in the end-to end delivery of Taronga's Ticketing and Unified Commerce Platform, one of the organisation’s largest and most strategically significant digital initiatives. This role is responsible for overseeing all phases of delivery—from initiation and planning through to implementation and transition to operations. Ensure the programme is delivered efficiently, within agreed scope, timeframes and budget, while achieving defined benefits and outcomes aligned to Taronga’s strategic and guest experience objectives.

• Balancing strategic program leadership with hands‑on delivery responsibilities, including the production of key project artefacts, requirements documentation, testing coordination, defect triage and readiness activities across multiple workstreams.

Essential Requirements

• Hold a current NSW Driver’s License or ability to have existing license formally recognised, including manual and maintain at your own expense.
