IT Systems Engineer - Microsoft Stack / Security / Cloud

ACT / VIC / NSW | Contract Opportunity | Australian Citizenship Required

We are seeking an IT Systems Engineer with a strong technical background across the Microsoft ecosystem, virtualisation, and IT security. This is a hands-on role working within a small, collaborative team, supporting both BAU and project delivery across a wide range of infrastructure and security-focused initiatives.
You'll be involved in the design, implementation, and administration of systems across their lifecycle — from project deployment through to ongoing BAU support.
What you'll be doing

• Administering and managing Microsoft 365 Defender (ATP) to protect against advanced threats.
• Deploying Infrastructure as Code using Azure Bicep.
• Managing and updating Citrix Virtual Apps/Desktops or VMWare VDI images.
• Automating IT and system tasks with PowerShell scripting.
• Administering and deploying Docker containers.
• Implementing PSPF ISM or NIST-equivalent security controls.
• Supporting and maintaining SQL Server, Dynamics 365 (on-premise & cloud), and SharePoint (online & on-premise).
• Using Jira for project and workflow management.

What we're looking for
Essential experience:

• Strong support background in Windows Server and desktop environments.
• Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune/SCCM).
• Application packaging and deployment.
• Documenting build processes and procedures.
• Supporting and implementing AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy.
• Windows & application patch management.
• Administering Office 365 & Azure tenancies.
• Exposure to VMWare infrastructure.

Desirable experience:

• Microsoft 365 Defender (ATP).
• Azure Bicep (IaC).
• Citrix / VDI image management.
• PowerShell automation.
• Docker administration.
• Jira by Atlassian.
