Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline with substantial experience.
• Desirable IP law qualifications and patent attorney registration.
• Experience in IP management and research translation in a research-intensive environment.
• Experience drafting and interpreting IP-related legal clauses.
• Ability to build and maintain professional relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice on intellectual property identification, management and protection.
• Assess invention disclosures for patentability and work with external advisors on protection strategies.
• Manage patent processes and support valuation of intellectual property.
• Support development and review of IP management plans across the research lifecycle.
• Draft, review and interpret intellectual property clauses and provide advice on IP aspects of research agreements.
• Support resolution of complex intellectual property matters and facilitate negotiations of IP issues with internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to intellectual property portfolio management, reporting and continuous improvement.
