Purposeful work with genuinely good people. That’s refreshing.

Play a pivotal role in the Corporate Development and Investment Team to drive the execution of the Development and Future Networks (DFN) division of AusNet’s delivery of its long-term growth strategy in the unregulated asset space.

In this Senior Investment Analyst role, you will deliver specialist financial modelling, investment analysis and commercial support activities across opportunities in electricity connections infrastructure, large transmission projects and for activities related to corporate development initiatives.

Your expertise in building financial models, performing analysis, and preparing materials for stakeholders and approvals will support strategic and investment decision making.

This role is based in Southbank and is part of the Investment and Financial Modelling team.

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

  • Development and maintenance of high-quality financial models for specific use cases including project finance models, asset portfolio and investment performance monitoring
  • Financial analysis of investment opportunities across the origination lifecycle
  • Supporting project leads across origination, commercial negotiations, and transaction execution.
  • Collating and drafting of management and Board papers, including approval papers.
  • Undertaking market research, due diligence, commercial and financial analysis to support investment decisions and the creation of strategic investment opportunities
  • Developing presentations and proposal documents for client submissions
  • Supporting transaction execution activities including mergers and acquisitions projects

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • Direct experience working in a financial modelling function in a financial advisory firm, financial model building/audit firm or an equivalent role within a fund or corporate.
  • Financial modelling and returns analysis experience.
  • Direct investment evaluation, structuring and execution experience.
  • An understanding of renewable industry financing with strong financial acumen
  • Proven ability to manage workstreams across multiple organisational functions.
  • Ability to engage at executive level with superior written and verbal communication.
