Job summary

RTX Australia seeks a Senior Inventory Officer to manage inventory across the vessel lifecycle, ensuring availability and readiness for naval operations. This role partners with Defence and uses leading inventory systems to optimize stock levels and support maintenance planning.

In a hybrid role, you will operate across locations including Perth, Darwin, and Cairns, with mentoring from experts and access to advanced tools.

Qualifications

• Requires Certificate IV in Logistics, Supply Chain or Distribution (or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years' inventory management experience.
• Experience in a Defence environment is highly regarded.
• Computer literacy with inventory systems (SAP, Maximo, EAGLE, MILIS).
• Eligible to obtain and maintain NV-1 Security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support material management planning and scheduling across ship classes.
• Meet internal and external stock level requirements and fleet management needs.
• Maintain export control compliance across Material Support functions.
• Utilise inventory management systems for program requirements.
• Collaborate with SPO Sourcing Team for procurement and repair of inventory.
• Assist audits and quality assurance across the supply chain.
• Act as POC for specific vessel class.
• Locations: Perth, Darwin, or Cairns.

Working within the Minor Vessel Capability Lifecycle Manager (MV CLCM) program the Senior Inventory Officer is accountable to the Inventory Lead to support development and proactive management of the inventory requirements across the vessel’s lifecycle - underpinning the availability of the ships to Navy.

Key Responsibilities

• Support material management planning and scheduling, including analysis and the optimisation of inventory holdings and locations for maintenance periods of different ship classes
• Meet customer requirements for both internal and external, including stock level maintenance and fleet management.
• Maintain Raytheon Australia’s export control compliance across all Material Support functions.
• Being comfortable with technology and system and logistics databases in support of program requirements.
• Working with the SPO Sourcing Team to ensure the efficient procurement and repair of inventory to maintain the established stock levels.
• Support to audit and quality assurance controls across the supply chain function to ensure compliance to policy.
• Act as the POC and support conduit for specific vessel class
• Multiple locations - Perth, Darwin, or Cairns

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• Requires a Certificate IV in Logistics, Supply Chain or Distribution (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 5 years' experience with inventory management operations.
• Experience within a Defence environment highly regarded.
• Computer literacy including the use of inventory management systems, e.g. SAP, Maximo, EAGLE or MILIS, Windows OS and Microsoft Office
