Job summary
Whizdom is seeking a Senior System Administrator Infrastructure Engineer to manage Linux-based infrastructure across on‑prem and cloud. The role focuses on VMware/VMware Aria design, deployment and lifecycle, along with strong networking including VLANs, DNS, load balancers and firewall rules.
Experience deploying sandboxed environments and developer tooling is essential, as is creating documentation and SOPs for operations.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of Linux systems administration across on‑prem and cloud.
- Deep expertise in VMware and VMware Aria: design, deployment and lifecycle.
- Strong networking knowledge: VLANs, DNS, load balancers and firewall rules.
- Experience deploying sandboxed (isolated) environments.
- Experience deploying developer/analyst tooling: IDEs, package management, access controls.
- Ability to document systems and develop SOPs.
- Knowledge of ASD Essential 8 security practices.
Responsibilities
- Maintain Linux infrastructure across on‑prem and cloud.
- Design, deploy and manage VMware and VMware Aria environments.
- Configure and troubleshoot VLANs, DNS, load balancers and firewalls.
- Deploy sandboxed environments for development and testing.
- Provide tooling for developers/analysts and manage access controls.
- Create and maintain system documentation and SOPs.
