Job summary

Megaport is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our operations team in Brisbane. You will own hands-on infrastructure tasks across servers, storage, networking, and platform software to maintain high availability and service quality for a global client base.

You will install and manage Linux and Windows OS, lead complex hardware issues, and mentor junior teammates. Remote-friendly, flexible schedules, and a strong collaborative culture are offered.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with server hardware diagnostics, replacements, and upgrades
• Strong understanding of data center standards, rack layouts, cabling, power distribution (PDU), and remote hands coordination
• Proficiency with monitoring platforms, ticketing systems, and incident handling workflows
• Solid knowledge of Linux system administration (CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar) including command line, scripting, and performance tuning
• Working knowledge of Windows Server environments
• Familiarity with RAID technologies, disk provisioning, and troubleshooting storage systems
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar
• Prior experience in a senior role within a data center operations or infrastructure support team is a strong plus

Responsibilities

• Lead operational tasks for infrastructure services including servers, storage, networking, and platform software
• Perform rack and stack activities, hardware installation, and in-cabinet maintenance
• Manage relationships and workflows with remote data center techs, ensuring adherence to standards
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot Linux and Windows operating systems
• Conduct root cause analysis for hardware failures, RAID rebuilds, storage allocation, and disk lifecycle
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot IPMI/BMC and out-of-band management
• Support and improve internal operational documentation, workflows, and escalation procedures
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
