Job summary

The Independent Education Union of Australia NSW/ACT Branch Ultimo Office is seeking an experienced Industrial Officer to provide high-level advice and representation on a broad range of industrial matters for union members.

You will lead bargaining and draft agreements within the non-government education sector, contribute to industrial strategies, and work autonomously as part of a supportive team committed to social justice.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial relations advocacy and representing members before tribunals.
• Experience working in unions and knowledge of Fair Work Act 2009.
• Ability to review complex documentation and negotiate settlements.
• Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated with initiative and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level advice and representation on industrial matters.
• Lead bargaining and drafting for single and multi-enterprise agreements.
• Contribute to formulation of industrial strategies and campaigns.
• Instruct and support counsel in conduct of cases.
• Work autonomously as well as in a team with strong organisational skills.
