Job summary

Churches of Christ in Queensland is seeking a Senior Home Care Worker to provide compassionate, client-centred home care. You will assist with medications, personal cares and household tasks, and support clients to maintain independence in their own homes across Greater Brisbane.

As a senior team member, you may mentor others, review care plans, and be available for on‑call support between 6:30am and 4:30pm. A valid license and Australian work rights are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in direct support.
• Certificate III in Individual Support or higher (Certificate IV or Diploma preferred).
• Medication qualified - or willing to obtain.
• First Aid and CPR qualification.
• Current Police Check - or willing to obtain.
• Australian Work Rights held.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for work.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly companionship and emotional support to clients in their homes.
• Assist with medications and personal cares.
• Assist with household tasks such as light cleaning, meal preparation, and shopping.
• Support clients with transport to appointments and community activities.
• Encourage independence and well‑being in a home environment.
• Participate in review of client care plans and maintain documentation.
• Train and mentor Home Care Workers, including annual performance appraisals.
• Availability to provide operational support between 6:30am and 4:30pm as required.
