Job summary

SA Health is accepting applications for temporary full-time Intensive Care roles at Lyell McEwin Hospital in Elizabeth Vale. The positions run until 1 February 2030 with a total indicative remuneration package and opportunities for professional development.

These roles require current AHPRA registration, FCICM or equivalent progress, and a proven track record in managing complex, critically ill adults within an ICU setting.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) with no restrictions on practice.
• Fellowship or advanced training in Intensive Care Medicine (FCICM or equivalent), or demonstrable progress toward fellowship.
• Proven clinical experience managing complex, critically ill adult patients in an accredited ICU setting.
• Strong commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice within a SA Health public hospital environment.
• Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the contract period through to 1 February 2030.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality clinical care to critically ill patients across the Lyell McEwin ICU.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary ward rounds, clinical decision-making, and care planning with nursing and allied teams.
• Supervise and mentor junior medical staff in clinical settings.
• Participate in rostered on-call and after-hours coverage as part of a supported ICU team.
