Job summary

SA Health's Lyell McEwin Hospital in Elizabeth Vale is seeking Medical Practitioners for the Intensive Care Unit. These temporary full-time roles run up to 1 February 2030, with multiple positions across a busy, high-acuity ICU.

You will deliver high-quality critical care, participate in multidisciplinary rounds, supervise junior staff, and contribute to quality improvement within a SA Health public hospital. MBBS with FCICM or progress toward fellowship and AHPRA registration are essential.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) without restrictions.
• Fellowship or advanced training in Intensive Care Medicine (FCICM or equivalent), or demonstrable progress toward fellowship.
• Proven experience managing complex, critically ill adult patients in an accredited ICU setting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality clinical care to critically ill patients in the Lyell McEwin ICU.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary rounds, clinical decision-making, and care planning.
• Supervise junior medical staff with teaching and mentorship on the ground.
• Participate in rostered on-call and after-hours coverage as part of the ICU team.
