Job summary

Join CSIRO's Information Management and Technology (IMT) team as a Senior Project Manager to help deliver strategic technology and digital initiatives that enable world-class science. You will lead complex projects across CSIRO's Data & Digital, Information, Technology & Platforms, and AI Roadmaps, working with multidisciplinary teams and diverse stakeholders to deliver meaningful organisational outcomes.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with a minimum of 5 years in project management within the ICT sector.
• Proven ability to deliver projects to scope, budget, schedule and stakeholder expectations.
• Proven ability to resolve project delivery issues with sound judgement.
• Ability to transition new products or services into business-as-usual operations.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage multiple, complex projects using appropriate methodologies (agile, kanban, etc).
• Deliver projects to scope, budget, schedule and stakeholder expectations with mitigated risks.
• Support, mentor and enable team members to do their best work.
• Identify and manage project risks and issues and escalate as needed.
• Facilitate creation, review and acceptance of project management deliverables.
• Lead change management associated with project delivery.
• Ensure smooth transition of new products/services into BAU.

The opportunity

Join CSIRO's Information Management and Technology (IMT) team as a Senior Project Manager and help deliver strategic technology and digital initiatives that enable world-class science. IMT supports the organisation's technology environment, from enterprise ICT and high-performance computing to digitally enabled research programs.

You will lead complex projects across CSIRO's Data & Digital, Information, Technology & Platforms, and AI Roadmaps, working with multidisciplinary teams and diverse stakeholders to deliver meaningful organisational outcomes.

High-level duties include:

• Plan and manage multiple, and complex, projects using methodologies appropriate to the project and the context (i.e. agile, kanban etc)
• Deliver projects to scope, budget, schedule and stakeholder expectation with appropriately mitigated risks
• Support, mentor and enable team members to do their best work
• Identify and manage project risks and issues and elevate any that may impact delivery
• Facilitate the creation, review and stakeholder acceptance of project management products and deliverables
• Lead change management associated with the delivery of projects
• Effective transition of new products or services into the business-as-usual environment

Role particulars

Location and office arrangements: Open to CSIRO site locations in Australian major cities.

Salary: AU$135,571 - AU$158,863 per annum, plus 15.4% superannuation

Tenure & work schedule: Specified term of 3 years, Full Time (Hybrid working available)

As the successful candidate, you will bring:

Essential Criteria

• Demonstrated experience with a minimum of 5 years in project management within the ICT sector including management of multiple projects simultaneously
• Demonstrated success in delivering projects to scope, budget, schedule and stakeholder expectation
• Proven ability in applying sound judgement in relation to resolving project delivery issues
• Demonstrated ability to effectively transition new products or services into a business-as-usual operational environment.
• Displays effective communication skills with all staff, clients and suppliers in the interests of good business practice, collaboration and enhancement of CSIRO's productivity and reputation.
• Experience working collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary, often regionally dispersed team and business unit to carry out tasks in support of CSIRO objectives.

• Formal training in project management
