Job summary

Peoplebank is seeking an EL2 ICT Portfolio Manager for a Federal Government client in Canberra, ACT. This long-term contract role focuses on developing and maintaining the ICT project portfolio, governance, budgeting and stakeholder engagement at senior levels.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years' leadership and senior project/program management experience, with strong communication skills and government exposure. PM certifications are desirable.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience leading teams.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a senior Project or Program Manager.
• Experience working in Government or delivering services to Government agencies.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to senior executives, vendors and delivery teams.
• Proven experience managing ICT portfolios, programs, governance, risks and budgets.
• Strong leadership capability with experience building, mentoring and leading high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the ICT project portfolio, ensuring alignment with agency strategic goals and objectives.
• Prioritise and optimise resource allocation across projects and initiatives.
• Engage cross-functional teams to execute ICT programs and projects.
• Define and monitor program goals, scope and deliverables to ensure successful outcomes.
• Oversee project schedules, budgets and risk management activities.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, vendors and business units.
• Act as the key bridge between ICT and business stakeholders.
• Develop and implement governance structures and processes to ensure portfolio compliance.
• Monitor and report on project performance, status and key performance indicators.
• Manage cross-project dependencies and champion portfolio initiatives in governance forums.
• Communicate project and portfolio updates to executives, stakeholders and teams, including chairing high-level steering committees.
• Prepare executive briefs and portfolio performance reports.
