Job summary

RED is seeking a Telecommunications Engineer for a full-time role based in our Sydney office. The position requires extensive ICT infrastructure design experience for data centres and commercial buildings, with responsibility for technical leadership, CAD and Revit coordination, and client-facing meetings.

You will develop technical specifications, ensure compliance with industry standards, and manage multidisciplinary design teams across electrical and mechanical interfaces.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in ICT infrastructure design or equivalent experience.
• A-Level secondary education, HNC/HND, plus relevant experience.
• Significant ICT infrastructure design experience for data centre and commercial buildings.
• Experience in ICT infrastructure for data centre construction and commercial buildings.
• Technical qualifications in LAN Ethernet switching, structured cabling, fibre, Wi‑Fi, and telecom networks.

Responsibilities

• Produce ICT infrastructure design specifications, reports, drawings and procurement packs.
• Lead technical meetings with clients and stakeholders; manage expectations.
• Develop 2D CAD drawings and interpret 3D Revit models.
• Coordinate ICT design with electrical and mechanical disciplines.
• Ensure specifications meet industry, legal and quality standards.
• Review and evolve industry best practices and provide technical leadership.
