Job summary

Airswift is seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer to lead design, development, and delivery of major industrial, process plant and energy projects in Australia. You will work within multidisciplinary teams to drive instrumentation and control solutions across greenfield and brownfield sites.

The role requires strong expertise in instrumentation, control systems, functional safety and industrial cybersecurity, with experience in large-scale industrial environments.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Electrical, Instrumentation, Control Systems, or related Engineering discipline.
• Proven experience in Instrumentation & Control Engineering within industrial, mining, green energy, utilities, or process plant environments.
• Strong understanding of control systems, instrumentation, and communications networks.
• Experience with PLC, DCS, SCADA, and industrial automation systems.
• Knowledge of Functional Safety principles and relevant industry standards.
• Experience with industrial cybersecurity requirements and compliance programs.
• Demonstrated experience on both greenfield and brownfield projects.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-level Control Systems and Instrumentation engineering activities.
• Define, coordinate, and review detailed technical studies for process plants, utilities, infrastructure, and energy projects.
• Support brownfield modifications and upgrades to existing facilities.
• Assist with project scoping, concept development, and cost estimating activities.
• Develop and evaluate instrumentation and control system designs.
• Collaborate with OEMs and vendors to deliver effective control and instrumentation solutions.
• Provide technical input into plant layouts, ensuring instrumentation and control requirements are fully considered.
• Develop and review engineering documentation including: P&IDs, Control narratives, Logic diagrams, Functional block diagrams, Instrument datasheets.
• Verify contractor compliance with Functional Safety requirements.
• Review and manage compliance with Industrial Cybersecurity lifecycle requirements.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and stakeholders to support project objectives.
