  • Provide technical design inputs for major infrastructure projects, including tunnels, deep excavations, dewatering systems and groundwater control measures.
  • Lead and contribute to the development, calibration and interpretation of conceptual and numerical groundwater models, including transient modelling, sensitivity analyses and assessment of groundwater inflows, drawdown and groundwater impacts.
  • Work collaboratively with geotechnical, civil and other design disciplines to develop groundwater-related design criteria, assess design options and manage hydrogeological risks.
  • Direct and review fieldwork including drilling, aquifer testing and groundwater monitoring programs.
  • Review and quality-check technical reports, proposals and project deliverables prepared by junior team members.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to hydrogeologists and other junior technical staff.
  • Liaise directly with clients, designers, contractors, regulators and other project stakeholders.
  • Contribute to business development, client relationships and identifying new project opportunities.
  • Apply broad hydrogeological knowledge and support geotechnical projects as needed.
Training and Development
  • Opportunities to further develop technical leadership and people-management skills.
  • Diverse, high-profile project work across environmental protection, groundwater management, water supply exploration and major infrastructure.
What's in it for you
  • A senior, client-facing role with genuine influence over project outcomes.
  • Coaching and mentoring opportunities alongside some of the industry's top leaders.
  • Further educational support for tuition fees and study leave.
  • Professional bonuses for industry accreditations.
  • Opportunities to work across Australia (we have 19 offices in both regional and metropolitan locations!).

  • A work culture that is empowering, fun and inclusive where people matter!
About You
  • Degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science or similar, with a hydrogeology focus.
  • ~10+ years' experience in consulting/industry, with a strong track record of project delivery and client management.
  • Demonstrated design experience on infrastructure projects (e.g. dewatering, groundwater control, or geotechnical/civil design input) highly regarded.
  • Advanced skills with groundwater modelling tools (e.g., MODFLOW, SEEP/W) and strong conceptual model development.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, mentor junior staff and review technical work.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and technical writing skills.
  • Sound knowledge of NSW groundwater guidelines and regulatory frameworks, with some knowledge of other states’ regulations considered desirable.
  • Safe, proactive, organised, collaborative and willing to travel for fieldwork as required.
