Job summary

Powertech is seeking a Field Service Engineer / Senior High Voltage Technician for their Malaga office on a full-time permanent basis. The role focuses on commissioning, testing, and maintaining HV protections, substations, and power generation systems with travel potential.

Ideal candidates will have strong IEC61850/GOOSE knowledge, leadership experience, and an engineering background with a recognized license. The position offers relocation support and opportunities across Australia/NZ.

Qualifications

HV electrical licensing or a relevant Engineering degree is preferred.
Degree recognised by Engineers Australia is required/valued.
Minimum 10 years' experience in HV
HV Switching Ticket preferred
IEC61850 & GOOSE experience desired
Knowledge of Australian and international standards
Strong safety culture and stakeholder communication
Experience using Omicron test equipment for secondary systems

Responsibilities

Commission, test and maintain HV protections schemes; IEC61850/GOOSE experience is valuable.
Commission, test and maintain HV substations secondary systems and primary plant.
Commission, test and maintain HV/LV plant/assets and power generation systems.
Commission and maintain power transformers; provide technical leadership to technicians.
Prepare commissioning/testing documentation, protection test plans and final reports.
