Job summary

BG&E, now part of the SYSTRA Group, seeks a proactive WHS Consultant to drive safety and quality culture across Queensland operations. You will report to the Global HSEQ Manager with a local line to NSW Geographical Director, acting as a trusted advisor to project teams and leadership.

You will lead local HSEQ initiatives, mentor staff, and ensure safe, compliant project delivery through proactive risk management, assurance, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, OHS or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years’ experience in delivering engineering/construction projects including reporting, auditing, safety in design, and quality controls.
• Detailed knowledge of current WHS/Environmental legislation and technical standards across NSW.

Responsibilities

• Act as SME coaching and mentoring teams to foster a strong HSEQ culture and risk-based decisions.
• Drive IMS continuous improvement, identify trends, streamline processes, and provide compliance reporting to Regional Leads.
• Assist project teams with project-specific Management Plans, Safety in Design/Risk Workshops, and document management.
• Conduct internal audits, office inspections, and assist ISO accreditation/certification audits (ISO 9001/14001/45001).
• Support incident investigations using ICAM methodologies, track corrective actions, and share lessons learned.
