Job summary

Argo Natural Resources is seeking a Health, Safety & Training Superintendent to lead HSE across coal mining operations in Queensland. Based at Carborough Downs, you will drive safety systems, risk management, training, and compliance, translating strategy into operational outcomes.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring 5+ years in HSE management in coal, with underground experience preferred, and a strong focus on culture, investigations, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ Health, Safety & Training management experience in coal mining.
• Strong knowledge of Queensland coal mining legislation and SHMS requirements.
• Internal Auditor qualification and risk-based incident investigation experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead health, safety and training across operations and ensure compliance.
• Oversee risk management, training, and contractor management.
• Drive safety culture and continuous improvement through audits and investigations.
