Job summary

RSGx in Australia is seeking a Senior HSE Manager to own the HSE strategy across WA from the Perth office in Burswood. You will lead HSE leads and advisors, drive governance, and oversee regulatory engagement and investigations.

You will ensure compliance with ISO standards, coordinate major incident responses, and build leadership capability within HSE to support growth across regions and markets.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of HSE experience with 5+ years leading teams across multiple sites or regions.
• A degree in Work Health and Safety, Environmental Science or related discipline.
• ICAM or Taproot investigation qualifications and Lead Auditor certification (or equivalent).
• Experience engaging Executives, Boards and regulators on strategy, risk and incidents.

Responsibilities

• Own HSE strategy and enterprise risk reporting to ELT and Board.
• Lead governance for Critical Risk / Critical Control programs and due diligence.
• Coach and develop HSE Leads and Advisors across regions.
• Own compliance across ISO45001, ISO9001, ISO14001 and OFSC programs.
• Oversee audits, regulator relationships and incident investigations.
• Lead response to serious incidents, with executive notification and crisis coordination.
• Authorize stop-work decisions when safety is compromised.
• Analyse HSE data to drive continuous improvement and benchmark performance.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Senior HSE Manager to own HSE strategy, governance and performance across WA, based from our Perth office in Burswood.

Reporting to the General Manager – HSEQ, you’ll be the senior HSE authority across tenders, new markets and acquisitions, lead our HSE Leads and Advisor teams, and drive RSGx’s response to serious incidents including regulator and Executive engagement.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Owning RSGx’s HSE strategy and enterprise risk register, reporting material HSE risk directly to the Executive Leadership Team and Board
• Leading HSE governance for Critical Risk / Critical Control programs, tenders, pre-qualifications and due diligence for new markets or acquisitions
• Leading, coaching and developing HSE Leads and Senior HSE Advisors across regions, and building the succession pipeline for future HSE leadership roles
• Owning compliance and certification across ISO45001, ISO9001, ISO14001 and OFSC group-wide
• Leading statutory consultation, audit and assurance programs, and regulator relationships across all jurisdictions
• Leading RSGx’s response to serious and catastrophic incidents, including investigations, Executive notification and crisis coordination
• Holding the authority to stop unsafe work anywhere in the business, independent of schedule or commercial pressure
• Analysing enterprise HSE performance data to drive continuous improvement and benchmark against industry standards

About you

You bring 10+ years’ HSE experience, including 5+ years leading HSE teams across multiple sites, regions or business units, backed by a degree in Work Health and Safety, Environmental Science or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience). You hold ICAM or Taproot investigation qualifications and Lead Auditor certification (or equivalent), with a track record of building leadership capability within HSE functions and engaging Executive teams, Boards and regulators on strategy, risk and serious incidents. Experience using Procore or similar systems for enterprise-wide HSE reporting is highly regarded.

You have strong knowledge of WHS legislation across multiple jurisdictions and high-risk industries (construction, oil and gas, rail, transmission and distribution, mining, defence, water and infrastructure), with the ability to set strategy and translate it into consistent execution group-wide. You’re an executive-level communicator, a strong influencer, and bring sound commercial judgement when balancing HSE risk against cost and schedule pressure. A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel regularly across regions is essential.

Experience across multiple states, regions or international operations, a formal leadership qualification, or HSE due diligence experience in M&A or new market entry will set you apart.
