Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety or a related discipline.
• 10+ years' experience in safety leadership within major civil infrastructure, construction or transport projects.
• Strong knowledge of NSW WHS legislation and relevant industry standards.
• Demonstrated success developing and leading high-performing safety cultures.
• Experience supporting large multidisciplinary project teams in complex construction environments.
• Strong incident investigation, risk management and auditing capability.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to influence leaders, supervisors and frontline teams alike.
• A practical and collaborative approach to improving safety outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project's health, safety and wellbeing strategy from mobilisation through to completion.
• Drive a positive and proactive safety culture across the project team, subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Provide expert advice to project leadership on safety management, compliance and risk mitigation.
• Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, project requirements and Bielby management systems.
• Lead incident investigations, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Oversee risk assessments, safety planning and assurance activities across all project operations.
• Develop and deliver safety leadership programs, coaching and mentoring initiatives.
• Monitor project safety performance and provide detailed reporting to project and executive leadership.
• Build strong relationships with clients, regulatory authorities and workforce representatives.
• Support future tenders and project pursuits by contributing safety expertise during planning and bid phases.
