Job summary

Abbotsleigh is seeking an accomplished Senior History Teacher to join our History Department from Term 1, 2027. The role focuses on Stage 6 Modern History and Extension History, with responsibilities for designing inclusive lessons, supporting independent research and contributing to curriculum development.

You will engage highly motivated students in a collaborative department, participate in pastoral care and whole-school initiatives, and benefit from exceptional professional growth

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with NSW/NESA accreditation.
• Experience teaching Stage 6 Modern History and Extension History.
• Strong understanding of historiography, inquiry-based learning, and assessment design.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Collaborative, reflective approach to teaching and learning.

Responsibilities

• Teach Stage 6 Modern History and Extension History.
• Design inclusive, stimulating lessons fostering critical thinking and historical empathy.
• Contribute to curriculum development and departmental planning.
